Artist Statement

A portrait of ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, John Frusciante. Entering the band at 18 and becoming immediately famous, he fell into a crippling drug addiction and struggled to recover. With the help of bandmates, he came back and joined the band, more successful than ever. Now a bit of a recluse, Frusciante makes whatever music he wants and experiments wildly. Often considered 'otherwordly', the glowing eye suggests a supernatural element, which turned him from a man into a legend.
